Gudamar or Jarislaw von Zitzewitz was father of Martin (1424-1485), "Lands-Voigt" to Stolpe and Schlawe. One of Martin's 7 children was Kaspar von Zitzewitz. Kaspar was "Herzoglicher Rath" and father of:
1) Jacob, more about him below
2) Joachim who 1563 was "Obristen" and "Hauptmann" to Lauenburg and Burow. His grandchild, George, was "Chur-Brandenburgischen Rath" and died in 1650.
The first mentioned Jacob studied law in France and Italy, and 1530 in Wittenberg he got a doctor's degree.
Later duke George I. of Wolgast made him to "Schloss-Hauptmann" and "Hof-Rath", and the duke's son Philipp made him to chancellor.
In 1543 he was present at the diet ("Reichs-Tage") in Nürnberg, and in 1552 he contributed to the agreement in Passau. When duke Friedrich of Stettin entering government he appointed Jacob to his chancellor and donated him a lot of estates.
He was highly respected for his work and got a good pension. But became very melancholy and commited suicide 1572 the 10. mars.
