Christen Hansen Rue Hans Nielsen Rue  Niels Hansen Rue

These three men were employed in Norway.
One Hans Rue citizen and lieutenant in Copenhagen, his 2. marriage about 1642.

From Christian Hansen Rue's application, in 1670 to "Cancelliet" concerning Søndfjord Magistrate district we see, that his parents for years had been living in Copenhagen ,paying tax there, and that his father Hans Rue during the siege of Copenhagen was Lieutenant and was a trusted citizen there. (Cancelli report 1670.)

Hans Rue's father might be Jan (Johan) de la Rue who I found in this book:
"Kong Kristian den fjerde og hans mænd på Bremerholm" (King Kristian 4. and his men on Bremerholm).
- Kapitel III A.
Kbh., Gyldendalske Boghandel, 1889
Hans Daniel Lind (1847-1924)
Ship officers, appointment before  1588.
(1570)-(89). Johan de la Rue got 1570 appointment in "Vestersøen" on "Galejen" (Vestersøen west for Denmark); 1571 in May was he again in  "Vestersøen" with the French "Galej" to help Admiral H. Gyldenstjærne in Norge, or else where he sailing with the Fleet (Navy). In 1576 was Johan de la Rue again "Galej" capitain, and in February 1577 he got supplies to "Galejen Jakob". We also know that he 1589 August 25. accompanied Admiral P. Munk with "Lille Fortun" on the Scottish journey. - He was the owner of  house in Kongensgade close to Volden.
Norske Rigs Registranter. First bind, page 681-682:

Leoparden: Henrik Gyllenstiern, Admiral; Nachtergallen: Erik Mortenssøn; Svalen: Rudbech Pors; Maagen: Hans Knabstob; Jupiter: Herman N.; Danske Galei: Rolf Clethoen; Norsk Galei: Gilbert Junge; Fransk Galei: Jan de la Rue

Possibly but not proved related to:
1. Jehan de la Rue married 1459 in Tournai, and the sons Pierre and Jehan de la Rue.
2. Johannes de la Rue, Hoogstraten (north of Antwerpen) 1558.
3. Jan de la Rue, Kortrijk (south west of Antwerpen) 1588.
4. Johan de La Rue, Zevenbergen (north of Antwerpen), 1708 April 2.
5. John De la Rue, church record from Forest, Guernsey (island west of Normandy) , 1728 July 2.
6. Jan de La Rue, birth 1538, Caen, Calvados, France

May be the family Rue / de La Rue descend from the village Rue i North France.
From this village the family spread to Lille, Paris and Picardy.

But as many of them were hugenots they had to leave France. Some of the Rue family escaped from France to Holland, Mannheim, Magdeburg, the Nederlands, Jersey and Guernsey in the English Canal, England, Denmark and the new world (America).
