Conrad Tiburtius (Range) Rango (superintendent) died after severe illness 1700 Dez. 3. The organization of official funeral program for the deserving Superintendenten, was given to headmaster of the University in Greifswald, historian Johann Philipp Palthen. He wrote obituary, containing  Vita about Rango and  "Catalogus Scriptorum RANGONIANUM". In the biography Rango's descent  are supported by later Italian sources. These sources say Theodor Rango accompanied Begleiter Belisars (505- 565) on his journey/war against "Ostgoten", and descending from an old noble family in Greece,  in 500-600 many of this family lived in Constantinopel  - this is not a scientific construction, but working well honouring  Rango.

He was from an old nobel family, that for more than 1000 years ago came from Constantinopel to Italy, where they still live in Florence, Venice and Modena.
As members of Rango we have in the 9. century Olympius, in the 11. century Landolphus, in the 15. century Gabriel and in the 16. century Hercules Rango as cardinals in the Roman church.
Nicolaus Rango in the 14. century came to Sachsen as general, he was "Obrister-Jägermeister" and leaving a son with the same name. This sons descendants seatled in Hinter-Pommern in Colberg and still some of them are citizen there.
Gvido (Rango) was born in Florence. He served at first i Venice against the federation from Camray, and ......

Rango(ow), die Herren von.
Rango descendant from Greece, where they came from in the 6. century to Italy. And Nicolaus Rango, "Kriegsobersten", in 1340 came to Sachsen. A son of him seatled in Colberg (Hinter-Pommern) and are progenitor Rangows in Pommern. Brüggemann also called them v. Rangen. 

Zedlers Universal-Lexicon, Blatt 0412, page 806:
Rango, a noble family in Greece, particularly found  in Constantinopel . The oldest person named Rango is Theodor Rango, in the 6. Century he was in Italy in Belisacius? (Belisars?) greatness. From Italy the Rango descendents spread to other countries, among them Nicolas that made a journey from Italy to Sachsen ge???? in the first part of the 14. Century. His descendents spread in Germany. From this family there are 3 honoured with "Cardinals-Hut", one was papal ambassador to "Churfürsten" of Sachsen Johann Friedrich. Two named Rango were on the first crusade to the Holy Land in the 11. Century, headed by Gottfried von Bouillon.
(Hans og Melchior von Rycken also were on this first crusade 1095–1099.)

Many of the descendents in Germany and Pommern are called Range, some of the oldest called Rango/Rangoni as in Italy. In Italy they also are called Rangone.
