Catharina Meincke (1744-1815), Heinrich Meincke's sister, the manager of "Meincke Sønner & Co" in Trondheim. She married Broder Brodersen Lysholm, related to Jørgen B. Lysholm who in 1821 established a distillery in Trondheim.
Catharina Lysholm became widow in 1772, 28 years old. She was a clever business women and soon became one of the biggest shipowners in the city. Together with her brother she building several ships, among them "Throndhjems Prøve" in 1780, and trading in Europa and the far East.
In 1805 "Throndhjems Prøve" sailed to East Indies with stockfish, ham and cheese, to Batavia today called Indonesia. In the cargo were 5 bottels of potato distilled spirits, but nobody wanted to buy because of a bad taste. February 1807 back in Trondheim with sugar and coffee the spirit also were loaded off the ship. Surprisingly now the spirits tasted very vell, and the "Line aquavit" was discovered.
