Hans Joensen Kiil was 28 years in 1687 Januar 24. according to the division of the inheritance after his mother, so he must have been born in 1659.
1692 he lived in his father's house in Trondheim. And in 1695 January 28. he got "borgerbrev" (citizen letter) as "nordfar" (permitted to sail north in the summer as trader).
In 1702 he lived on the big farm Bentsjord by Tromsø, and leased half of the farm. He was married twice: First with Margrethe Carlsdatter, she died in 1699, later he married Ingeborg Andersdatter Moursund who tohether with her husband died at in a shipwreck in 1728 October 4.
On "tinget" (court of justice) in 1708 he handled the case for Lars Guttormsen with the bailiff's permission.
He was a trader in Karlsøy 1690-1700.
Hans is mentioned in some documents until 1713 (division of inheritance).

Bentsjord is mentioned in tax register from 1567, but his farm is much older. Hans Jonsen Kiil's wife, Ingeborg Andersdatter Moursund, was the first of the Moursund family on Bentsjord.
After Hans Andreas Moursund died in 1880 the family left Bentsjord and the last house sold in 1920. Then the big estate was splitting up in 15-20 smaller farms.
