This coat of arms first used by Borcke, Klesit and Bulgrin and later by other families by marriage.

According to Baltische Studien is Bartusewitz a noble family in the 13. and 14. centuries and is later called von Bulgrin.
Ritter Barthus
(=tus, =tis) the black "der schwarze", known as von Bulgrin gave in 1286 together with his wife Ermegardis and the sons Andreas, Paulus, Bartholomeus, Pribislaw and Matheus many "Hufen" and church "lehn" in Bulgrin to the monastery Bukow, in 1287 (with two wolves in the signet) he gave properties from Cösliner Nun Monastery Moker and a field by Nassow together with Wiesen by Radüe, then he is mentioned in 1288. His sons, grandchildren and grand grandchildren called themselves sometime for Bartuswitz, and sometimes von Bulgrin as they do later.
Of his sons are Andreas, Paulus (in the signet Herr) and Matheus as in 1309 owner of Repkow and Wusseken neighbour to Bukow.
Ritter Barthus was in 1313 witness in Cöslin. "Herr" Paul mentioned again in 1335 together with the sons Johannes or Henning and Bartus and grandchildren of the first Paul, Ulrich and Vicko. Of them were Paul and Vicko in 1342 "belent" with the 500 "Hufen" containing a chain of estates from Bublitz to the later Baldenburg. All three, together with Barthus og Henning, sons of the first, and Andreas, son of the other, sold in 1353 their share of the "Fließ Nest" and "Jamundschen See" to Cöslin.
